About Bernard Midgley, jewellery designer, maker, tutor.

Bernard was traditionally trained as a jeweller and silversmith in the 1970's. More
recently he studied at Leeds College of Art and then graduated with a BA (hons)
in Design from Leeds Metropolitan University.

His career background was based in financial services and management, while always yearning to follow his artistic side.

Ten years ago he launched a successful business buying, renovating and selling
antique and vintage jewellery which led to realising his ambition of designing
and making jewellery and teaching classes and workshops.

Bernard has set up a jewellery workshop in Leeds, (JWL), to offer
jewellery making tuition, events and access to a workshop with the option of
ongoing support. Such a setting, he believes can be instrumental in raising
confidence in aspiring jewellers.

Bernard is Yorkshire born and bred and lives in Leeds with his partner Jane. He is the proud father of four daughters & most recently - granddad!
