JWL Workshop offers open access to jewellery making facilities through our range of jewellery courses and our flexible membership scheme. Our comprehensive range of courses and membership scheme are offered at extremely affordable prices.

Our aim is to foster new talent into jewellery making, from complete beginners to more experienced jewellery practitioners in need of workshop access for their business start-ups. We want all our members to be able to develop to their full potential by tutoring skills and providing opportunities to showcase their work.

The studio is located only one mile from Leeds railway station. It is easily accessible by bus or by car and the site offers the fantastic advantage of free secure private parking.

MEMBERSHIP

Our membership scheme offers access to a well equipped jewellery studio in Leeds.

The studio offers an open plan design. It is a friendly space with other members, instructors and other support always on hand. The space benefits from lots of natural light, and has a seating area, kitchen and toilets.

Membership is open to anyone with basic experience in jewellery making or silversmithing. To obtain the best return on your investment and to insure the safety of our other members and our equipment, we do ask that a level of proficiency is demonstrated by prospective new members. This can be shown through the completion of our 'Introduction to Jewellery Making' course or other college jewellery courses, evidenced through practical demonstration or a portfolio of work.

In all cases, everyone benefits from an induction to the studio, to ensure you know your way around all the resources. Workshop open access is available purchased in advance on an hourly rate, with concessions for bundles or through an extremely competitive rate for full 4 hour sessions. All rates must be paid in advance.

Wednesday's 4hr sessions run mornings: 9am-1pm, afternoons; 1-5pm and evenings; 5-9pm

Thursday's 4hr sessions run afternoons: 1-5pm and evenings; 5-9pm

Saturday's 4hr session runs 1-5pm

Please Note: Open access benches may be unavailable when programmed courses are in progress.

MEMBERSHIP: £40 PER YEAR (INCLUDES A FREE OPEN ACCESS 4HR SESSION).

EQUIPMENT

The resources within the studio will enable any jeweller to develop their practice. Resources will continue to grow as the studio becomes even more established and caters to the needs of more jewellers using the space.
